Teeth Whitening · Orlando & Clermont, FL
Whitening is where every great smile design starts.
It’s the least expensive, most conservative move in cosmetic dentistry — and the first step in nearly every plan we design. Because porcelain is matched to your shade, we brighten the canvas before we paint.
Whitening works well if…
- Your staining is surface-level — coffee, tea, wine, time
- Your teeth and gums are healthy
- You want a noticeable lift without changing shape or alignment
- You’re starting a bigger plan and want the target shade set first
It won’t solve…
- Internal (intrinsic) staining — tetracycline, trauma, developmental — which may need veneers
- Old crowns, fillings, or veneers — restorations don’t bleach
- Discoloration caused by decay or a dying tooth — that needs diagnosis, not bleach
Options: supervised take-home systems with custom trays (most control, best value) and in-office boosts for events and timelines. Timeline: noticeable change in days; full result in 1–3 weeks. Cost: typically $300–$700. Considerations: temporary sensitivity is common and manageable; results vary by stain type; maintenance touch-ups keep the shade. See Cost & Financing.
Whitening questions
Professional vs store-bought — what actually changes?
Concentration, fit, and supervision. Custom trays hold professional-strength gel evenly against every tooth, and we manage sensitivity in real time. Strips whiten the middle of front teeth and miss the rest.
Why won’t my teeth whiten?
Likely intrinsic staining or restorations. An exam identifies the cause and the right tool — sometimes that’s veneers, not more bleach.
Should I whiten before veneers?
Yes — always. We whiten first, then match porcelain to the brighter shade.
Is whitening safe?
Supervised whitening on healthy teeth is well-studied and safe. Whitening over undiagnosed decay or gum disease isn’t — which is why an exam comes first.
