Porcelain Veneers · Clermont & Orlando, FL

Veneers that make people notice you, not your dental work.

You’ve seen bad veneers. Everyone has, that’s the problem. Chalky white, too thick, too uniform: the smile that enters the room before the person does. That’s not a porcelain problem. It’s a design problem.

What a veneer actually is, done correctly

A custom-layered ceramic shell, individually shaped and shaded to your face, your skin tone, and the character of real enamel, including the subtle translucency and surface texture that make natural teeth look natural. Dr. Calish designs porcelain veneers for patients across Orlando, Clermont, and Central Florida who want a meaningful change nobody can quite put their finger on.

Veneers are for you if…

  • Your teeth and gums are healthy, or can be made healthy
  • You have deep discoloration whitening can’t solve
  • Wear, chips, small gaps, or uneven shapes bother you
  • You want a meaningful redesign, not just a touch-up
  • You understand this is an investment in a decade-plus result

Veneers are NOT for you if…

  • You have untreated gum disease or decay, health comes first, always
  • Your misalignment is better solved by aligners (sometimes moving teeth beats covering them, and we’ll say so)
  • You grind heavily with no willingness to protect the result
  • You expect zero maintenance forever
  • You want the opaque “refrigerator door” look, respectfully, we don’t do that

Benefits

  • Transformative control over color, shape, and proportion
  • Stain-resistant porcelain that holds its shade
  • More conservative than full crowns
  • 10–15+ year lifespan with good care
  • Designed to your face, not a template

Limitations, the part most websites skip

  • Preparation usually removes a thin layer of enamel; it’s not reversible
  • Veneers can chip or debond (rare, and repairable)
  • Porcelain doesn’t whiten, we whiten your teeth first, then match
  • Veneers don’t fix bite problems; they depend on us solving those first

The process

01

Design consult & records

Photos, smile analysis, bite evaluation, goals. This is where the result is actually determined.

02

Smile design & preview

Mockups and temporaries let you test-drive the design before anything is final.

03

Conservative preparation

Minimal, anesthetized, protected by well-crafted temporaries between visits.

04

Lab crafting

Layered porcelain built by a master ceramist to the written design specification.

05

Placement, refinement & protection

Final placement, bite verification, and a maintenance plan, night guard included when grinding is in play.

Timeline: typically 2–3 visits over 3–5 weeks. Cost factors: number of veneers (often 4–10 in the smile zone), ceramist and lab tier, design and preview work, and whether whitening or alignment comes first. Typical Central Florida range: $1,800–$3,000 per veneer. Financing available for qualified patients, see Cost & Financing.

Veneer questions, answered straight

Will veneers look fake?
Badly designed ones do. Natural results come from layered translucent porcelain, shade-matching to your face, and design that respects natural tooth character. The best compliment our patients get is “you look great”, not “nice veneers.”
How many veneers do I need?
However many are visible when you smile, often 4–10. Some cases need two. We design in whole smiles, not sales quotas.
Do veneers hurt?
Most patients report little to no discomfort. Preparation is conservative and anesthetized; temporaries protect teeth between visits.
How long do veneers last?
Commonly 10–15+ years with good hygiene, bite management, and night protection if you grind.
Can I whiten before veneers?
Yes, and you should. We whiten first, then match porcelain to your brightened shade.
What if I grind my teeth?
You can still have veneers, with bite analysis first, durable material choices, and a night guard built into the plan. Ignoring grinding is how veneers fail. We don’t ignore it.
